Welcome to Families for Better Care! We are a non-profit citizen's advocacy group working to improve the quality of care and the quality of life provided in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.  

The decision to place a loved one in a nursing home or other long-term care facility is a difficult one.  Often the decision must be made in a hurry due to a stroke, an accident such as a fall or a broken hip, or after a hospitalization.  You may be looking for "rehab", or a facility that specializes in Alzheimers or dementia care.  You've heard or read the horror stories about abuse and neglect in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.  How do you find a good one?

Families for Better Care can help.  We can give you pointers on how to choose a good nursing home, where to go for information on laws and regulations, and help you if you are experiencing problems.
